The elections come fast in the heels of a power transfer within Zanu PF, with Emmerson Mnangagwa replacing Robert Mugabe as president of Zimbabwe and first secretary of the party Zanu PF. Before this, we were all resigned to the fact that Robert Mugabe would be running for president at a ripe old age of 94. It was not to be.
